Route 66

In early 2024, my family and I took a road trip down the infamous Route 66 for a twelve-day, adventure-filled journey. We travelled as far as Flagstaff, AZ(because who really needs to see L.A. anyway…)and then from there we traveled up to the Grand Canyon via train. Within this gallery, I will post images from each state we travelled through during that road trip. There will be a combination of both digital images and B&W film.

In the spirit of the journey, I wanted to capture it in the way it has been photographed for so many years in the past, with film. I bulk loaded 28 rolls of B&W film and went through 25 1/2 of them. Developing and printing the film will take quite some time but I am looking forward to spending hours and hours in my darkroom.

I also have over 1,000 digital files to search through and edit which will, by no means, be much easier. I have always had a tough time culling and self-editing what I choose to print and post so this will also take time.

This gallery will be a living and long-growing documentation of the greatest and most memorable trip of my lifetime. The memories and experiences I have from this journey with my family will never be forgotten. It is my hope to portray and preserve the memories in these photographs for myself, my husband and most importantly, my daughter.
